Sunday Mornings: Foundational Truths In Genesis.
Week 1 - What does Genesis 1 reveal about (1) The nature of God, (2) The nature of Man and (3) Man's relationship to God?
Week 2 and 3 - a. What does it mean that man was made "in the image of God"? What are the implications of this according to Genesis 9:6 and James 3:9? Is there a conflict between the omnipotence of God and events like the Las Vegas shooter? b. The text says God made man "male and female". In what way does this relate to the modern views of gender? (Are there just two genders or many more?)
Week 4 - God rested on the seventh day and blessed it and sanctified it. What does that mean to us today? God places man in the garden to tend and keep it. What does that teach us about having a job to do?
Week 5 - What thoughts do you have about why God created a "tree of the knowledge of good and evil"? Consider the temptation. What thoughts do you have on Satan's appearance in the form of a serpent? Notice how the serpent appealed to Eve and how she and Adam fell into transgression. How does this compare to what happens to us today?
